Family Law, Probate and Estate Planning, Mediation
Keo'vonne Wilson started Kenna Law Center, PLLC (Formerly Keo'vonne Wilson Legal, PLLC) nine years ago. After working in an estate planning law firm, Mrs. Wilson realized that there were very few women and even fewer people of color walking into the firm to create an estate plan. She reasoned that although everyone passes on, not everyone one was passing on their earthly legacies. After talking to a wide range of potential clients, she discovered that people were not planning for their inevitable fate largely due to one of three reasons: 1) They didn’t think they had enough of an "estate" to plan for 2) They didn't really know what an estate plan was and 3) They didn’t know what an estate plan did or could do for them.
Driven by a desire to meaningfully serve her community, Keo'vonne set her focus on educating anyone who would listen about the benefits of estate planning. She spoke at churches, financial planners meeting, relators conventions and small business owners association meetings. She believes that estate planning is truly for EVERYONE.
During the first two years of practicing estate planning at her own firm, Keo'vonne continued to get estate planning clients who wanted her to assist them in family law matters. Hesitant at first, Keo'vonne sought mentorship with a local retired family court judge and practicing attorneys. The more she delved into the practice, the more she grew to love family law. Where estate planning took a preemptive approach, family law was about problem solving after conflict was already present. There is a lot of overlap in estate planning, probate and family law. One area of practice often informs the other. Mrs. Wilson-Ullith creates estate plans that anticipate the potential for family conflict because she sees the various ways in which conflict can arise. Mrs. Wilson-Ullith negotiates family settlement deals that consider retirement and benefits because she witnesses these issues come up during probate.
Keo’vonne is a native south Floridian and moved to Phoenix Arizona from South Korea. Prior to attending law school. Mrs. Wilson-Ullith worked as a legal assistant in a bankruptcy law firm, model and actress in New York City, and as a teacher in South Korea. These diverse careers instilled in Mrs. Wilson-Ullith professionalism, drive, and a sense of humor. Mrs. Wilson- Ullith’s practice is dedicated to providing efficient, effective and preventive counsel to her clients.
Keo'vonne is not a bulldog, a tiger or any of the other animals people associate with attorneys. She is, however, a tenacious and hardworking attorney. She will make your best interest a priority, be prepared and professional, tell her clients the truth (good and bad), educate clients on every option, opportunity and offer, consider your financial circumstance and ensure transparency in billing,
Keo'vonne believes in maintaining a healthy work-life balance. When she's not working, she's balancing her time with belly laughs with her precocious daughters, growing plants that only want to die, hiking, and creating elaborate vegetarian meals for her meat-eating husband.
